Conflict of Interest Policy

Journal of Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry requires authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may influence the submission, review, editorial decision, or publication process.

A conflict of interest may arise from financial relationships, employment, consultancy, honoraria, research funding, institutional affiliations, personal relationships, academic competition, intellectual property rights, patents, or any other situation that could affect, or be perceived to affect, objectivity and impartiality.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest at the time of submission. If there is no conflict of interest, this must also be clearly stated in the manuscript.

Authors must also disclose all sources of financial support, funding, sponsorship, institutional support, or material support related to the submitted work. The role of the funder or sponsor in study design, data collection, data analysis, interpretation, manuscript preparation, or publication decision must be clearly stated where applicable.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers must decline a review invitation if they have any conflict of interest that may affect their impartiality. This includes personal, financial, academic, institutional, or professional relationships with the authors or the subject of the manuscript.

Reviewers are expected to inform the editorial office immediately if they identify a potential conflict of interest after accepting a review invitation.

Editors’ Responsibilities

Editors and editorial board members must not be involved in the evaluation or decision-making process for manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest. In such cases, the manuscript will be assigned to another qualified editor.

The editorial office is responsible for managing disclosed conflicts of interest and ensuring that the review and decision-making processes remain fair, independent, and transparent.

Journal of Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry follows the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) regarding disclosure of interest. Authors may be asked to complete the ICMJE Disclosure Form when necessary.
