Plagiarism Policy

Journal of Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate image manipulation, citation manipulation, and fraudulent misrepresentation are considered serious ethical violations.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using iThenticate plagiarism detection software as part of the editorial evaluation process. Similarity reports are reviewed by the editorial office before the manuscript proceeds to peer review.

A similarity rate of 20% or lower is generally expected. However, the similarity percentage alone is not used as the sole criterion for editorial decisions. The editorial office evaluates the nature, source, distribution, and context of the similarity. Properly cited references, standard methodological expressions, institutional names, and commonly used terminology are considered during this assessment.

Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity, unattributed text overlap, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or other forms of publication misconduct may be returned to the authors for revision, rejected, or handled in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy and COPE guidelines.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources are properly cited and that the submitted work is original. If plagiarism or unethical overlap is detected after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the severity of the case.
